I worked as a Sports Intern at The Boston Globe and its sister site, boston.com, during the fall of my third year at Northeastern. Being able to work hands on in Boston sports media from the end of summer through the start of 2019 gave me some amazing opportunities — reporting on the Red Sox 2018 World Series win and catching up with MVP Steve Pearce, sitting down to chat with Patriots' then-rookie Sony Michel and having the privilege of telling the story of his path to the NFL, and getting to interview Tom Brady just days after his sixth Super Bowl victory, to name a few.

Trey Flowers welcomed another ‘blessing’ into the world this weekend

The defensive end was absent from Patriots practice on Friday, generating some mild panic regarding his status for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. But thanks to his Instagram post, it’s clear that Flowers’ absence wasn’t injury related at all. Flowers welcomed his new daughter, Shylo Reign Flowers, on Friday. He shared a picture of her swaddled in, of course, a flowery ensemble on Instagram Friday night. The 25-year-old was active for Sunday’s 24-10 win over the Vikings and notche

Obi Melifonwu is already making good impressions with the Patriots

Obi Melifonwu has been with the Patriots for less than a month, but the 24-year-old safety has wasted no time in making an impression, especially with fellow safety Devin McCourty. “Man, he’s freaking huge,” McCourty said of Melifonwu. “He’s a bigger, physical guy and I thought he’s done a great job, whether it’s staying after with Steve [Belichick], talking to myself, [Patrick] Chung or Du [Duron Harmon] of when he’s out there, what we expect of him, what we need him to do, and then what he ex

David Price: ‘Eovaldi better be re-signing’

David Price had a message for fellow World Series champ Nathan Eovaldi during his Twitch livestream. The Red Sox pitcher’s new Twitch channel went live Tuesday, and he was streaming himself playing Fortnite and answering questions from fans when Eovaldi joined the livestream. He didn’t have a microphone, but that didn’t stop Price from taking playful jabs at the free agent. “Everybody wants you to re-sign, and I said no… I said re-sign him and send him to Pawtucket,” Price said. Eovaldi was a

Bill Belichick and Vikings coach Mike Zimmer are gushing over each other

The Patriots and the Vikings will face off this Sunday at Gillette Stadium, a showdown that’s quickly become one of the more anticipated games of the season. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is the most-tenured coach in the NFL and has earned respect from peers and opponents throughout his career. Mike Zimmer, on the other hand, had a rockier start early in his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings but has greatly improved the organization, transforming them into a team with serious playoff pote

Tom Brady’s Instagram celebrations are back

A loss to the Tennessee Titans followed by a bye-week put Brady’s celebrations on a two-week hiatus, but the quarterback had reason to celebrate again after yesterday’s 27-13 win over the New York Jets. “Great to win,” Brady said, with Gillette Stadium lit up in the background. “8-3, beating the Jets after Thanksgiving and we’re back here next Sunday. Let’s go!” This week’s post-win video featured a clip of rookie Sony Michel, who ran for a season-best 133 yards and a touchdown while Brady him
